STORY OF HOPE group addictions ministry
In 2020, after arriving as missionaries in Puebla, Mexico, we started reaching out to families through Biblical Counseling meetings. However, I realized something as I listened to the families that the Lord brought our way. Families have addicts and addicts have families. It seemed everybody had a loved one enslaved to drugs or alcohol, and something became painfully clear; to minister to families, but to ignore the addicted, is to not really help the family.
So, in January 2021, we started preparing our team in March 2021, we launched "Grupo Esperanza" or (Hope Group), to reach the addicted through Wednesday Night and Friday Night Meetings. Since then we have seen the Lord fulfill His Great Commission through the addictions' ministry, bringing more that 200 to the meetings, more than one 100 to our church services, and several have been baptized. We even have begun our own Recovering Addicts Sunday school class to ground them in the Word of God (pictured below on rt.).

Most addicts process their spiritual recovery in Christ as they continue their daily lives. There are many, though, who because of abandonment of their family, and the enslaving power of drugs such as heroine, crystal meth, and even alcohol, need an isolated facility to hear the Gospel, walk with Christ, develop new habits, and process their recovery. For this reason, we opened Hope House in April 2021.
